 Bill Payment
Can I make payment for bills not presented through BillJunction?
Yes, you can pay bills not presented on BillJunction, provided the Payee is registered with us, and has been selected by you to receive payments through us.
All service providers registered with us have been classified as either Billers or Payees. Billers will provide your bill details online and accept payment of your bills through us. Payees accept payment of your bills through us, but do not present your bill details online.

How are the payments scheduled for Billers?
As soon as we receive a bill from your Biller, we put it online in your Bill Inbox and send you an email noification. You can then log in to your Bill Inbox and click on Pay to schedule the payment. By default, we will fill up the bill amount and the bill date, to ensure that the payment is made on or before the due date. However, for some billers you have the option to reschedule the payment by changing the bill amount or the bill date.
Please note that you will continue to receive the physical copy of the bill from your service providers.

How are the payments scheduled for Payees?
Once you receive the physical bill from your Payee, you can log on to BillJunction and schedule the payment by giving us the bill amount and the payment date.

Do I have to remember to pay a bill on time?
Billjunction will notify you about the arrival of a new bill from your Biller. morever, BillJunction will also send you an email reminder a specified number of days before the due date, in case you have not scheduled payment for a particular bill.
We can also send you SMS reminders on your mobile phone, if you specify your mobile number using the SMS Alerts option under Preferences (after you login) .
Email/SMS reminders is a FREE service from Billjunction, and we encourage our customers to derive maximum benefit of this service.

Who authorises payment amounts and dates?
Only you can schedule and authorise a payment from BillJunction -- you tell us who, when and how much to pay.

Do I have to pay the entire bill amount?
No, you decide and approve the amount of payment for every bill. However, BillJunction can accept part payments only if the service provider has approved it.

When I pay a bill, when and how does BillJunction debit my account?
BillJunction debits your account through the Electronic Clearing Service (Debit Clearing) process of the Reserve Bank of India. Your payment instructions are normally sent to RBI every Monday, or the next working day. You can expect the debit to your account on Friday. You would receive an email from us 4-5 days before the debit date, reminding you to keep your account funded.

How will I know when a bill has been paid?
BillJunction would send you an email confirmation as soon as your bill is paid. We can also send you SMS alerts on your mobile phone, if you specify your mobile number using the SMS Alerts option under Preferences (after you login) .

How do I prove I made a payment through BillJunction?
BillJunction will send you an email confirmation of every payment made. You can get a complete record and verification of all payments you have made through us. Further, as all payments are made by debiting your bank account, they would reflect in your bank statement as well. In case of a specific dispute, BillJunction would endeavour to get a physical receipt from the Biller.

What happens if I don't instruct Billjunction to pay the bill ?
BillJunction will continue to send you email notification that a bill is overdue. Bills are never paid unless you authorise them. If you choose not to pay a bill or pay by through other channels, those bills would be filed in the Archives section after they expire.

What happens if I do not have enough money in my bank account to cover my bills?
BillJunction pays your Biller after it receives fund from your account. Consequently just as with a paper cheque, you have to maintain sufficient funds in the account to cover all payment obligations. In case of insufficient funds in your account resulting in a failed debit, BillJunction will notify you through email. Please note that your bank may charge you a fee for failed debits. Therefore we suggest you to consult your bank for their specific pricing policies.

Does BillJunction support bill payment by credit card?
As of now BillJunction only supports payment through a bank account. However, BillJunction will be introducing this feature soon.

Can I still pay my bills when it is past the due date?
Payments cannot be made online after the due date mentioned on the bill.
If payment is made after the payment date scheduled by us, the payment of the bill could be accepted as 'late payment' by the Biller/ Payee, and might attract penalty/ late charges. In such a case, it is advisable to Cancel the online payment and pay through theoffline channels Collection Centres/Dropboxes.
